McCashney makes the move to V8’s

20 year old Trentham driver makes the move to the Fujitsu V8 Supercar series. Ben will compete in a Terry Wyhoon BA Falcon with a Stone Brothers engine.

Ben is confident of adapting to the new category quickly but is not expecting too much too early.

The team managed to conduct a test at Winton and was excited with the results.

This is a natural progression for Ben and follows a stellar career which featured 10 state titles in go-karts, a state title and 4 track records in Improved Production, 3 round wins and 4 track records in Aussie Racing Cars.

He will make his series debut at Winton Raceway on the 1st of May.  Ben likes the circuit and it has been considered his home track.

Ben is hoping to contest at least 4 rounds of the championship and the team is leaving no stone unturned to raise the budget required to race at the remaining 2 rounds.

The team will be supported again by long term sponsors Playstation and Steel Blue Premium Footwear with additional assistance from Rockstar Energy Drink, PJ Transport and Logistics, Tyquin Earthmoving, Transcool , Vereker Bros Smash Repairs, Splashaway Pool and Spa shop, Rick Egan Builder and Van Huesen Socks and a consortium of local business people.
